South Worcester Lifesaving Team at National Speeds Event

Over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of March, South Worcester Lifeguards had club members who are involved in it's competition squad, attended the Annual RLSS Speeds 2019 event which was held at the Ponds Forge international Sports centre in Sheffield.

This is an event which the team has been training and looking forward to for the past few months, with intensive and task focused training being undertaken weekly, in order to improve on specific events. This RLSS Speeds event was a culmination of the most competitive RLSS affiliated clubs within the country, and our team members were competing against some of the best competitors in the country.

The team members which attended the competition all competed to the best of their ability, with many members getting PB'S in events such as Line Throw, Rescue Medley, obstacle and other events. Some Team members were able to achieve medals in certain events. Congratulations goes to Amy Weston for obtaining a Bronze medal and a Gold medal in the 100M obstacle, Bronze medal for Lara Harding and Ellen Forson in the 12M rope throw, Bronze medal for Clara Forson and Mia Robin's in the 10M rope throw.

South Worcester is proud of all team members who competed at the event. We would also like to thank Competition Team manager Vanessa Eagland for training the team and also organising team members throughout the two day event.
