South Worcester Success at Rookie Gala

On the 02/03/2019, multiple teams from South Worcester Lifesaving & Lifeguard Club attended the regional branch Rookie Gala which was located at Droitwich leisure Centre. The Rookie Competition consisted of two age groups competing, the under 11's and the under 14's. This was a significant amount of teams being entered by South Worcester which reflected the great attendance shown by all teams present at the event with over 130 competitors and 20 teams taking part.

This event consisted of races which all team members use regularly within their ongoing lifesaving training such as rope throw, Manikin Tow, Torpedo Rescue and other events. The South Worcester teams who competed had a large success overall in both age categories at under 11 and under 14. Team Members were as follows:

Under 14's - A Max Rice / James Young / Millie Young / Clara Forson / mia Robins and Oliver Carnegie

Under 14's - B

George Sutcliffe / Dan Goodall / jasper Harding / Rosie Forson / Laura Inett and Meg Clifford

Under 11's:

Koji Robins / Josh Sanders / Ross Young / Jasmine Gale / Poppy Harding / Sapphire Stankovich

Scarlett Eagland / Evie goodall / lily and Ryan Widner / Harry Ramage / and Emily

Abygail archer-smith / Abygail   / Megan / Cody wonfor-swoosh / William / Sam Penjgelly

In this event South Worcester Under 14's Team A won Gold and Team B won Silver. In the Under 11's section we had one team winning gold with the other teams coming joint fourth respectively.

We would like to congratulate all individuals who participated in this event and the success which was achieved overall. we also hope that all who took part enjoyed this event. We would also like to thank all the parents who helped with the processes of timekeeping, recording, officiating  and raffle/programme selling. Without all of your wonderful support we would not be able to participate in these events and support all of our young talented members.
